The Sophie Calle event at the BNF

Sophie Calle is exhibiting until 8th June at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, Richelieu site, "Prenez soin de vous" (Take care of yourself), the work that represented France in 2007 in the French Pavilion at the Venice Biennial. Daniel Buren is responsible for staging the exhibition, as he did last year.
The artiste has taken over the historic Labrouste room, closed to the public for ten years.
Bruno Racine, President of the BNF: "The Labrouste Room provides a setting as amazing as it is appropriate for the work of Sophie Calle, a response to the collections of manuscripts and photographs that the Bibliothèque keeps at the rue de Richelieu".
The exhibition is backed by the Fondation Jean-Luc Lagardère. Culturesfrance, instigator of the French Pavilion, and the Institut national d’histoire de l’art have joined forces to support the event.
