Rencontres internationales de la photographie in Fès

Organised by the Institut français, the Rencontres internationales de la photographie will be held in Fès until 14th June 2008. Around twenty artistes working around the Mediterranean, selected by the young commissioner Fouad Maazouz, take over different parts of the town, working on the theme of "La ville". Fès, in fact, celebrates its 1,200th anniversary this year and the Institut français… its fiftieth! Projects shown at the last Photography Biennial in Bamako are on display. Les Rencontres also celebrates the 60th anniversary of the famous Magnum agency.
