The “Génération Musiques” programImplemented by CULTURESFRANCE in collaboration with French cultural services abroad, “Génération Musiques” gives priority to exchange, dialogue between cultures, encounters between artists and new publics for all kinds of music: pop, rock, French variety, jazz, world music, reggae, hip hop, electro…
For three years, this program has brought French musical performances to countries in the Maghreb and the Middle East, and allows artists and publics to enjoy unique experiences, unique artistic encounters. “Génération Musiques” is a celebration of all music: music of the world, pop, rock, French variety, jazz, reggae, hip hop, electro. More than 300 artists, from both sides of the Mediterranean, have already participated in “Génération Musiques”.
“Génération Musiques” also takes place in Latin America. On this continent, music is omnipresent, inside, outside, in gardens, in clubs, in the city, in the islands. In search of new artistic encounters, Latin America wanted to explore the “Génération Musiques” adventure, promising profitable collaborations with countries where music is truly a popular art form. Encounters between French musicians and local artists produce original and outstanding concerts. More than thirty French artists have already participated in “Génération musiques” / Latin America, opening a new adventure that will continue with many others until 2007. DistributionCULTURESFRANCE encourages French attendance at major musical events and supports artists’ tours around the world. Thus, each year, regional tours are organized in Asia for "Printemps français", as well as in Africa and in Eastern Europe. It provides support to French Music Offices abroad that have been opened through a partnership with French Music Export Offices (Germany, United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil and Mexico) to durably develop the French presence in these areas.
